Middle/High School Camps

Program:

Event Specific Camps (Middle School, entering grades 6-8; High School, entering grades 9-12) Event specific camps are designed for athletes who want to begin to specialize or continue to specialize in certain track and field events. A large focus will be placed on event mechanics and developing event specific capacities. Camps will be capped at 10 athletes to insure lower coach to athlete ratios. A wait list will be created for a possible second group.

Session A: High School High Jump
High School aged athletes will build on their experiences with High Jump and develop event specific mechanics needed for successful injury-free High Jumping. Emphasis is placed on approach and take-off mechanics.
Session B: High School Long Jump and Triple Jump
High School aged athletes will build on their experiences with Long Jump and develop event specific mechanics needed for successful injury free Long Jumping. Athletes will also be introduced to the basics of Triple Jump.
Session C: Pole Vault
High school and middle school aged athletes will build on their experiences with Pole Vault and develop event specific mechanics needed for successful, injury-free Pole Vaulting. Emphasis will be placed on runway and take-off mechanics.
Session D: Shot Put & Discus
High school and middle school aged athletes are introduced to the fundamentals of the throwing events. Emphasis will be placed on Shot put and Discus. Introduction to Hammer throw and Javelin throw will be offered.
Session E: Sprints and Hurdles
High school and middle school aged athletes will learn the event specific mechanics needed for successful injury free hurdling and sprinting. Also a great option for non-track athletes wanting to develop speed.
Session F: Middle Schools Jumps
Athletes are introduced to the fundamentals of the jumping events. Emphasis will be placed on Long Jump and High Jump.
